Recruitment Questions:

1. Recruitment?? What is it?
Rush is simply a process of making friends. A decision to go through recruitment is a decision to become acquainted with the Greek community. By going through rush, you are not committing yourself to join our sorority. You are simply meeting people, making friends, and becoming familiar with Greek Life.

2. How do I register for Rush?
You must contact our Rush Chair or contact us on this website (see contact tab), just leave us your name and number and one of our sisters will respond back with dates of when our rush events are.

3. How do I go through Rush?
There is a schedule of events planned for all women who are interested in recruitment. It is very beneficial to you to attend the scheduled events because they will allow you to meet the sisters and get to know them.

4. How do I decide?
Each person looks for different aspects in a sorority. Some chapters are more focused towards athletics, academics, involvement, or friendship. The choice is up to you.

5. What do I need to know before I join?
Along with joining a Greek organization come certain responsibilities. Make sure you know about required financial obligations. You should also understand all aspects of membership that are required for initiation into the organization. If you are unsure about anything, just ask.

6. How do I join?
Recruitment period ends with a bidding ceremony planned by the sisters. Once a woman accepts a bid, she becomes a new member of the chapter. If you are not interested in joining a chapter that extends you a bid, you may decline.

7. What is Membership Education?
When a woman accepts a bid to a chapter, she becomes a new member. Activities in the new membership education process are geared to bring the new members closer to each other and the current members, as well as to educate new members on important issues such as alcohol, hazing, study skills, and diversity. New Member Education helps new members learn about life, the chapter, leadership, responsibility and yourself

8. Is there Hazing?
Contrary to popular belief, hazing is not a part of Greek Life, and is not the basis of Greek activities. Sigma Iota Delta Sorority has prohibited all forms of hazing.
If you have any other questions, please contact our Membership recruitment Chair.
